Course Code LIF005 - Emergency Response – Practical Fire Training
Nominal Duration 1.5 hours
Course objective This course is for all permanent employees to provide them with the skills and knowledge to identify and operate first response portable fire fighting equipment in accordance with AS 3745

  • Safety requirements
  • Legislative requirements
  • Action in the event of fire and emergency
  • Responsibilities under the Fire and Rescue Services Act (Pt 9a) and Building Safety Regulations (1991)
  • Instruction on Classes of Fire and correct extinguisher for each class
  • Demonstration of the operation and techniques of using a fire extinguisher
    Instruction in fire safety hazards recognition and management
  • Guided practical use of fire extinguishers
Course assessment
  • Written and oral examination
  • Practical assessment
Successful participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. (Valid for 12 months from date of training).
