Course Code LIFC01 - Emergency Response - General Occupancy and Practical Fire Training Combined
Nominal Duration 2.5 hours
Course objective Provide training for all employees to develop the skills and knowledge required to comply with relevant procedures in accordance with AS 3745 specifically relating to the operation of first response fire equipment.

  • Responsibilities under the Fire and Rescue Services Act (Pt 9a) and Building Safety Regulations (1991)
  • Overview of Emergency Procedures
  • Employees duties and responsibilities
  • Action in the event of Fire or Emergency
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Identification of portable fire fighting equipment
  • Instruction on Classes of Fire and correct extinguisher for each class
  • Demonstration of the operation and techniques of using a fire extinguisher
  • Instruction in fire safety hazards, recognition and management
  • Guided practical use of fire extinguishers
  • A general description of the fire protection equipment in the buildings
Course assessment
  • Written and/or oral examination
  • Practical assessment
Successful participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. (Valid for 12 months from date of training).
