Course Code LIFC02 - Emergency Response - ECO/Wardens Training Combined with Fire Extinguisher and General Occupancy Training
Nominal Duration 3.5 hours
Course objective Provide training for all employees to develop the skills and knowledge required to comply with relevant procedures in accordance with AS 3745 specifically relating to the operation of first response fire equipment.

  • Responsibilities under the Fire and Rescue Services Act (Pt 9a) and Building Safety Regulations (1991)
  • Overview of Emergency Procedures
  • Wardens duties and responsibilities
  • Methods of communication
  • Content of Emergency Procedures Manual (site specific)
  • Action in the event of Fire or Emergency
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Identification of portable fire fighting equipment (theory only)
  • Instruction on Classes of Fire and correct extinguisher for each class
  • Demonstration of the operation and techniques of using a fire extinguisher
  • Instruction in fire safety hazards recognition and management
  • Guided practical use of fire extinguishers
  • A general description of the buildings fire protection equipment
  • Bomb threat procedures (including specific search procedures)
  • Action in the event of a telephoned bomb threat
Course assessment
  • Written and/or oral examination
  • Practical assessment
Successful participants will receive multiple Certificates of Completion. (Warden & Evac components are valid for 6 months from date of training. Fire & General Occupancy components are valid fro 12 months from date of training).
